Award Nomination: We’ve been shortlisted for the Nature of Scotland Awards!

We are thrilled to announce that our One Planet Pledge initiative has been shortlisted in the Business for Nature Award category at RSPB Scotland’s prestigious Nature of Scotland Awards.

The awards ceremony, now in its 12th year and co-sponsored by NatureScot, will be hosted by zoologist, TV presenter, and RSPB Ambassador Megan McCubbin and TV presenter and nature enthusiast JJ Chalmers on the 22nd November at the EICC.

We introduced our ‘One Planet Pledge’ in 2020 to amplify our community benefits. Annually, we donate around 500t of our Green Goodness compost (with a value of over £23,000) to local schools, community groups, and charities.

As part of our One Planet Pledge, we plant a tree for every bulk bag of firewood we sell, and over the last two years we have given away 2,500 trees. We have also worked with over 80 community groups to collectively clean over 800km of coastline and have provided sponsorship and raised over £75,000 for local charities.

On behalf of everyone at Caledonian Horticulture, we wish the best of luck to all finalists and look forward to attending the ceremony.
