Caledonian Horticulture are proud sponsors of The Scottish Coastal Clean Up and in 2023 the Big Beach Clean event is back for it’s third year. We’re encouraging everyone to get involved and help celebrate World Ocean Day by doing their bit for the environment.
When?
This years event will run from World Ocean Day on Thursday 8th June until Sunday 11th June.
Where?
Thanks to the amazing response from local community groups, families, and individuals over the last two years we have extended the clean to cover the entire coastline between Berwick-upon-Tweed and Inverness, and between Gretna and Glasgow on the west coast.
How?
To get involved couldn’t be easier, just decide where you would like to carry out a beach clean and pop a pin in our map to show where you’ll be. This could be an organised clean open to volunteers, part of your usual beach walk, or a get together with friends and family.
This years map can be found here: Big Beach Clean Map 2023.
Click the little pin icon underneath the search bar and then click on the area you will be. A box will then pop up where you can add the name of the beach. If others are welcome to join your clean you can add time and meeting point.
Connect
The Scottish Coastal Clean Up have set up Facebook Groups for the different coastal areas, join them to be kept up to date with the latest news and to connect with others in your area:
